What is MeltingSpot? A Customer Education Platform.

MeltingSpot is the Customer Education Platform that enables SaaS and professional services to accelerate user onboarding and activation by embedding an academy within their product or website.
This academy can be fully integrated into the page/tab of your choice, allowing users to navigate between all educational (courses, document libraries, etc.) and community (webinars and discussion forums) resources of their choice.
Alternatively or complementary, it can be integrated piece by piece into certain pages of the site or product to highlight selected content within a widget. Adding a widget to a page facilitates contextual education for the user, putting the needed resource in front of them at the right moment. See more below about the widgets.

Do I need a developer to integrate MeltingSpot into my interface? No.

For embedding an academy or community, you only need to integrate a simple 2-line script into your header, accessible to anyone managing your interface (product, website or webapp).
For SSO, unless there are specificities in your codebase, the deployment is quite simple (a JS snippet copied into your codebase).
For widgets, again, you just need to integrate simple scripts where you want the widget to appear, with everything else managed from the MeltingSpot admin panel.

Does MeltingSpot offer an API and integrate with my CRM? Yes.

MeltingSpot integrates with all tools in the Sales / CS / Support stack through webhooks you can manage from the platform. This sync works from MeltingSpot ⇒ HubSpot / Salesforce / Planhat, but we're working on native integration with the leading tools in the market (S2 2024).

Widgets: "Won't it overlap with my Intercom widgets?"

No, you can certainly keep your Intercom widgets as they complement MeltingSpot ones. Intercom helps users understand how to use your product, not why they should use it. It's a product training and customer care tool, while MeltingSpot is a customer success tool.

We recommend:

Keeping your Intercom help desk and chat support widgets in your product. This ensures good product usage and high customer satisfaction.
Adding MeltingSpot widgets in relevant places to highlight upcoming lives (group onboarding, office hours...), support forums, best practice sharing documents, etc. This ensures quick activation and better retention of your customers.
Once all your product training and customer education resources are in your product, your customer will have no reason to leave. No need to search for answers on Google or the link to a webinar replay in their email...

Widgets: How does it work in practice?

Widgets are iframes showing a list of Spot contents chosen by the admin: upcoming or past lives, discussion channels, topics and forums, or even page and collection links...
The iframe acts as a gateway to the resources: clicking on one of the resources redirects the user to the corresponding page in the Spot. If the Spot is embedded somewhere with redirection enabled, the user is redirected to the corresponding embedded section.
To install a widget on a page, simply add 2 small HTML scripts to the page's code. These scripts are dynamic and will therefore take into account future MeltingSpot updates!
The widget can take one of the following 3 formats: a rectangular frame (see in action) of any size to be placed directly on your page; or a modal (see in action) or a side panel (see in action) overlaying your page that the user can open by clicking a button.
A user will only see in a widget the resources they have normal access to: for example, they will only see a secret document if they are logged in and part of the associated private collection, and open discussion channels if they are logged into the Spot on the page they are on.
For a Spot that has set up SSO authentication and installs widgets within its connected space: it is possible to pass down to the widget script settings the user's authentication token → this will allow users from the connected space to view the widgets as logged-in members of the Spot.
